The XT-DC Drum Character is an effect intended for use on acoustic percussion instruments, particularly snare and bass drums.
The Drum Character plugins operates by producing two distinct EQ curves on each of the primary part of a percussion sound, the transient and the tail.
This allows you to control the exact sonic character of the initial hit of of the instrument (attack), as well as the roll off (or tail).
Best when used on: Individual drum/percussing instruments
Attack & Tail Parametric EQs: The Drum Character plugin features two parametric EQs allowing you to EQ both the attack and the tail different from one another
Attack & Tail Waveform Display: Here you can choose where on the transient the attack and the tail actually sit. This display is updated every time a new transient passes through.
Input Threshold: This vertical slider controls the amount of material that gets into the plugin.
Trim: This vertical slider allows you to trim the plugin output so the apparent volume after processing remains the same as the unprocessed signal.
Momentary Bypass: the top-right corner is a momentary-bypass button. Press this button to temporarily bypass the effect. Releasing the button will re-apply the effect.
