Every track has a single Playlist Selector dialog, and you may show more than one track’s dialog at a time. You can show the Playlist Selector by clicking “P” in the track header, or by selecting a track and using the shortcut in the Track menu.

The available playlists for the associated track are shown at the top of the dialog.

The left column is the name of the playlist, and the right column is the ‘Group ID’ which is a timestamp that is assigned to a playlist in one of these cases:

  • In the case of an empty track, a group-id is generated when you first record to the track. This allows your initial playlists to be grouped together automatically when you make the first recording pass on multiple tracks.
  • any user-action that creates a playlist: either a New or Copy action. All the affected tracks will be assigned a group-id for the new playlist.

The “Scope” checkbox is used to control the scope of both playlist selection and the New/Copy buttons.

  • Just this Track/Group : apply the action to this track, or the active Group.
  • Rec-Armed Tracks: apply this action to all tracks that are record-armed
  • ALL Tracks: the action will be applied to all tracks.

Two buttons are provided to generate new playlists for this track (and any others that correspond to the Scope selection).
