Tagging Plug-ins

Tags allows the user to append their entire collection of plug-ins with an arbitrary amount of tags to make plug-ins easier to find across all of Mixbus’ interfaces.

The Plug-in Selector window allows for plugins to be tagged, and searched via their tag, name, or creator (or a combination of all three) making it very quick to find plugins you need for your session. By default we take whatever the plugin reports as its category. However, for most plugin formats, these aren’t very useful. So for your convenience we have ‘pre-tagged’ over 4,000 popular plugins so you don’t have to!

To tag a plugin all you need to do is:

  1. Select it in the plugin in the plugin selector
  2. Click in the Tags field
  3. Replace or extend the tag text

Multiple tags can be included by adding a space after every word. For instance, “bass eq parametric” is three separate tags. Now that plug-in will appear in three separate locations simultaneously.

Additionally, plug-ins that appear in the favorites pane will now be able to be searched by tags. In this case, I’m searching for “EQ” and this finds all my favorite plugins that are tagged “EQ” even if EQ doesn’t appear in the plugin’s name:

And they will appear in a strip’s right click menu under plug-ins:
