Mix Tools

What are Mix Tools?

In the main menu, under the “Track” menu, you will find several operations which can automate certain tasks that are commonly encountered while mixing.

Currently, 4 Mix Tools are provided:

Reset Mixer

This tool applies to all the mixer channels, and it resets the knobs to their default positions. You may choose from the list if you’d like to save certain mix settings. Note that this CANNOT be undone.

Track Organizer

This tool provides a list of all the tracks in the session, along with simplified interface to rename the tracks as well as assign a color, comment, or group to each track:

Scenes

This tool allows you to store and recall specific scenes.

Store and Recall Mixer Settings

Store:

The current settings of the mixer may be stored in the Session folder, or in your globally-accessible preferences folder. Choose “Global” if you think you might want to use these settings on a different session, someday.

• Name : Enter the name of the file here.
• Selected Tracks Only : If this is checked, then only the selected (red-colored) tracks will be saved to the file.

Recall:

First, choose whether to load a file from your Global settings, or from within the current session:

!Mixer files contain the mixer-strip Input Trim, Polarity, EQ, Compressor, Panning, Mixbus Sends, Master Bus Sends, and Plugins. They do not include Sends or Inserts in the channelstrip.

Select the file that you would like to import:

*Each of the provided actions in the “Track Tools” menu is implemented as a Lua script. It is possible to edit the script manually, to change or improve the script’s behavior. This is an advanced topic for customization. To chat with developers about this feature, visit the Mixbus user forum.
