The AVL drum kits were developed by Glen McArthur at AVLinux, and packaged by Robin Gareus for use in Mixbus.
When compared to the drumkits in Mixbus’s “General MIDI Synth”, the AVL drumkits utilize many more velocity layers, and therefore can deliver a more nuanced and “real” sounding drum kit, when this is desired.
The AVL drumkits may output each drum sound on a separate output, and they serve to demonstrate Mixbus’s multichannel instrument outputs. To learn more, see: multichannel instruments
The “Black Pearl” drumkit uses a smaller kick drum and a tight snare for a traditional “jazz” drum setup:
The “Red Zeppelin” drumkit uses a larger, boomier kick and a brighter, more sustaining snare for a more aggressive“rock” sound:
“Buskman’s Holiday” is a multisampled percussion kit containing “low budget” percussion elements. Liven up your tracks with stomps, claps, tambourine, and … a bucket !
