Mixbus runs on nearly any desktop or laptop computer running a 64 Bit version of Windows, Mac, or Linux.  

You may download the software directly from the product page (in the Downloads section) to try the software on your system.   The software operates in evaluation mode until you purchase and apply a license.

Apple MacOS:

Intel Macs: 10.14 Mojave or newer, including Sonoma
For Apple Silicon (M1 and M2), a ‘native’ ARM build is provided. Requires MacOS 11 (Big Sur) or newer, including Sonoma
Any CoreAudio-compliant audio device is supported.  Multiple devices can be combined into one virtual device using MacOS “Aggregate” devices.
Supported plugin formats on Mac: AudioUnit, VST, VST3, and LV2.

Microsoft Windows:

OS version:   64 Bit Windows 7 or newer
ASIO audio devices are preferred for high performance.  But Mixbus can also use built-in soundcards (choose the MME driver).
Supported plugin formats on Windows: VST, VST3, and LV2.

Linux:

64 Bit system with kernel version 2.6 or higher.  A realtime-audio focused distribution such as AVLinux, UbuntuStudio, or CCRMA is recommended.
ALSA or JACK-supported audio device.
Supported plugins on linux: VST, VST3, and LV2.

All platforms:

2+ cpu cores/processors are highly recommended.
2Gig or more RAM is highly recommended (or much more, if you use sample-based virtual instruments).
A standard 3-button mouse with scrollwheel is recommended.  Trackpads and “Magic Mice” also work well, but you should check your Control Panel settings to enable operation for 2nd and 3rd mouse buttons.
A full-size keyboard with number pad is recommended (extra transport controls on the number keys) but not required
600 MB available hard disk space (for program installation only).
A video monitor with a height of 900 pixels (or more) is required.
A monitor with a height of 1200 pixels (or more) is highly recommended.
