What is a Follow Option?

A Follow Option is the event that is triggered when a clip reaches the end of its length.

  • None means to do nothing after the clip finishes playing
  • Stop means stop playback at the end of the clip
  • Again means to replay the clip after it finishes playing
  • Forward means to advance and play the following clip (on the next row of the grid, but within the same Cue Channel)
  • Reverse means to advance and play the preceding clip (on the previous row of the grid, but within the same Cue Channel)
  • Jump allows you to explicitly select a clip (or clips!) to be queued when this clip has finished playing (including any repeats caused by Follow Count)

Jump -> Multi

Multi allows you to select multiple slots. When the Jump->Multi Follow Option is initiated, one of the selected slots will be selected and queued for playback.

An example using Jump and Multi-Jump

In this image, the ‘verse’ Clip is a 1-bar pattern that is set to repeat 3 times and then Jump to one of 3 random ‘fill’ patterns (Fill 1,2,3). The fill patterns jump to the Chorus pattern (E), which then jumps to one of 3 different ‘fill’ patterns (Fille 4,5,6), which then jump to the verse pattern (A). This creates a semi-random song arrangement that alternates verse and chorus parts, with a potentially different fill every 4 bars.
