What are Mix Tools?
In the main menu, under the “Track” menu, you will find several operations which can automate certain tasks that are commonly encountered while mixing.
Currently, 4 Mix Tools are provided:
Reset Mixer
This tool applies to all the mixer channels, and it resets the knobs to their default positions. You may choose from the list if you’d like to save certain mix settings. Note that this CANNOT be undone.
Track Organizer
This tool provides a list of all the tracks in the session, along with simplified interface to rename the tracks as well as assign a color, comment, or group to each track:
Store Mixer Settings
- Settings Name : enter the name of the file here.
- Settings Location : you may store the file in the Session folder, or in your globally-accessible preferences folder. Choose “Global” if you think you might want to use these settings on a different session, someday.
- Selected Tracks Only : if this is enabled, then only the selected (red-colored) tracks will be saved to the file.
Recall Mixer Settings
First, choose whether to load a file from your Global settings, or from within the current session.
Select the file that you would like to import.
The “Source” column displays the channels that were found in the mixer snapshot file. The “Destination” column displays the closest-matching tracks that were found in your current session. If a track with the same name isn’t found, the Destination will show “——”. If Mixbus can’t automatically find a match, you can choose the tracks that you’d like to assign from the Source.
Since tracks can be assigned to groups, there is an option to “Create groups” for any group that doesn’t already exist in your session. If you un-check this box, then Mixbus won’t create any new groups to accommodate the selected mix file.
