XT-CQ Console EQ is a full-featured, unapologetically digital, parametric equalizer with a unique Search Bar that helps you find and eliminate troublesome frequencies.

  • 8 EQ bands with 20-20kHz range, 8 shapes including Notch, Q’s up to 100, and 18dB boost/cut
  • 2 ‘steep’ filter bands (A&B) with HP/LP slopes up to 48dB/octave and a wide-notch shape
  • Symmetric digital (‘de-cramped’) EQ & filter shapes are pre-warped to balance the response near Nyquist
  • Wide Notch filter shape provides a notch with a wider footprint to eliminate main power hum
  • Innovative Search Bar provides a waterfall display of your signal, allowing you to see and hear the frequencies you need to adjust:
  • Grab a triangle to solo the equalizer band, and fine-tune the frequency you need to boost or cut
  • Piano display helps you visualize the connection between frequencies and their musical significance
  • Input & Output meters, and an output-trim slider, allow you to match the level of the equalized & dry signal
  • 6 preset ‘starting points’  provide common settings for the most common EQ tasks

Best when used on: Anything that needs serious equalization repair-work

Controls:

Input Meter (IN): Reports the average intensity (volume) of the input signal (in stereo operation, this meter shows only the Left side)

Output Meter (OUT): Reports the average intensity (volume) of the output signal, after it has been processed by the EQ (in stereo operation, this meter shows only the Left side)

Trim: This slider adjusts the post-eq level. When applying wideband EQ, you can use the Trim slider to match the input and output meters more closely. Combined with the Momentary Bypass (below), this allows you to compare the pre- and post-eq signal with a compensated volume.

Presets: six starting presets are provided to apply settings of some common compression tasks. In many cases you only need to adjust the threshold to match the input signal, to achieve a good compressor sound.

Momentary Bypass: the top-right corner is a momentary-bypass button. Press this button to temporarily bypass the effect. Releasing the button will re-apply the effect.
